This large knife is a ceremonial blade of the Northern Philippines – they are typically used to execute criminals by decapitation. Though ceremonial in origin, the knife is deadly and practical. Crafted in the Philippines, the blade is of sharpened 5160/D2 high carbon steel tempered to HRC 58-60. The grip is of two carved wood halves laid over a solid integrated tang. A carved wooden scabbard with a blade-retaining clip is included. The metal clip locks the blade in place by going over the lip of the guard. It can be released by a good tug on the grip.

Please Note: Due to being crafted in a tropical environment with native woods, it is common for these weapons to develop thin, minor cracks in the wood and the scabbard as the woods adjust to our more temperate environment. Cracks in items sent to you will not be harmful to the structural integrity of the item. Also – The decorative rattan wrapping can be brittle and may crack or break.

It is recommended that a light coating of protective oil is used to protect the wood from dryness and cracking.

Love this blade I ordered and received this blade about a year ago and man do I got to say this blade is a work in craftsmanship, It arrived very sharp as are a lot of T.F.W blades and the blade is very nicely polished there are a lot of good things about the blade like the distill taper in the tang and the handle grips but there is one thing and the is…… The sheath, honestly as a starter its not bad but through time it starts to wear and not just two weeks after I received mine it dropped and broke from a table but I sucked it up and taped it glued it and reinforced it with leather so it’s bearable. ( IM FOR SURE GETTING THIS KYDEXED BECAUSE I CARRY THIS IN MY SURVIVAL BAG ALONG WITH CRKT HISSHOU SO THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PART OF THOSE COLLECTION)

5 stars because the sheath was some what on me

      Enjoy hope this helps out
