The Windlass Italian Ballock Dagger has a triangular-cross section blade crafted from 1055 high carbon steel; the blade edges are unsharpened and the tip is slightly blunted, though still quite acute. The large parrying guard is of brass with an antiqued finish. The disc pommel, emblazoned with a cross in bold relief, is likewise crafted from antiqued brass. The grip is blackened wood.

The sheath is constructed with a core of wood and is bound in stitched black leather and fitted with a protective brass chape.

The aptly-named bollock dagger has its origins in the medieval period, but it reached the apex of popularity in the English Tudor period. Though very common in England at this time, it was still well-represented on the continent.

Ballock daggers with these sharply-tapered, triangular blades are clearly intended solely for thrusting and were well-capable of leaving deep wounds with garish ease; wounds that were very difficult to suture due to their triangular shape - on top of this such a wound would be highly likely to become infected even if the massive internal bleeding could be stemmed. A strike to the torso was highly likely to puncture one or several organs and create great complications to the body of the unfortunate soul who took the wound.

While these daggers were good civilian self-defense weapons ideal for the narrow confines of the cities they also had a good utility for the battlefield and skirmish. The thrusting blade of these daggers makes a sheer mockery of chainmail and its thin and strong blade could find the gaps in plate armor, where the blade was strong enough to be used as a lever to pry open an even larger gap to further thrust the blade into the man within.
