With a deft twist and pull, the hidden blade of this sword cane comes unsheathed from a sturdy and unassuming fiberglass shaft. The quadrangular blade has unsharpened edges, but the blade tapers to a sharply potent tip. The 6160 aluminum head is removable so that it can be engraved for personalization.
No Ship to CA or WI. International restrictions may also apply.

Miscommunication? On the Cold Steel website, they advertise the cane as having a stainless steel blade: http://www.coldsteel.com/Sword-Canes.aspx

    2. Nathan W.

Great sword with a few minor caveats I did not actually purchase my copy of this weapon with Kult of Athena, but deemed it important to give a proper review of the weapon, especially as the only other review is utterly useless and does not address the sword itself.

We’ll start with the good points:
      1. The weight and balance of the sword give it an extremely swift and responsive motion. It handles very much like a small sword but weighted a bit closer to the pommel than one might normally find. The sword is light and whippy and in the right hands would be extremely accurate and deadly.
      2. Unlike many cane swords I’ve dealt with it fits both snuggly and SILENTLY in it’s housing. The friction seal holds up to all but a full force swing of the sheathed sword (when held by the pommel) meaning that this weapon functions well as simply a short staff/club in a pinch.
      3. The body of the cane itself is made of exteremely durable material meaning that you’re basically getting the function of two weapons at once. Since a blade like this isn’t really intended to black another weapon, having the body of the cane as a durable blocking and interference tool makes this weapon twice as effective and twice as awesome.
      4. It almost goes without saying, the point is WICKEDLY SHARP. This is NOT a slashing weapon. This is a puncturing blade and if carboard, upholstery, melons, and even metal cans are any indicator, this blade is more than capable of spearing an assialant like a fish in a barrel. The rectangular cross section means that it will be a messy and painful wound too. DO NOT USE AS A TOY.

And now the limited Cons of this weapon:

      1. The thin small sword blade has a tendency to bend in the last qurater of its length if used against a resilient target. Swinging it into anything that will not IMMEDIATELY give under the force of your swing is almost guranteed to put a kink in your blade. on the upside though it doesn’t affect the effectiveness of the point, and being good steel most significant bends can largely be corrected with simple tools or even bare hands. (BE CAREFUL HANDLING THE BLADE POINT, IT COULD EASILY GO THROUGH YOUR HAND IF YOU’RE NOT CAREFUL WHILE WORKING ON IT)

      2. This point actually has nothing to do with the sword part of this cane sword. The rubber tip is pretty much uselss for grip on anything other than rough concrete. It’s too small to be effective for grip or balancing your weight on icy or highly polished surfaces, and has a tendency to sink into softer terrain such as grass. However this is easily fixed with a trip to a local CVS or Walgreens where you can buy tips for orthopedic canes that have excellent grip. you may have to fiddle a little bit or try a few to get exactly the right fit but in the end you can make this cane perfectly functional with little effort.

And finally 3. THIS POINT IS MINOR AND ONLY IMPORTANT if your using this cane sword as an actual walking cane. The round head style of this cane means that leaning on it for long periods may cause extra stress or pain in your palm and wrist. but if, like me, you bought this sword primarily because it’s just fricking awesome then you have nothing to worry about.

In conclusion: For the reasonable price you pay for this weapon you get an elegant and sophisticated looking walking stick with an elegant and effective self-defense weapon perfectly concealed within it. If your looking for a way to keep safe on the street and look like a Gentleman (or Lady) Badass while doing it then look no further than the Cold Steel Aluminum Head Cane Sword.
