This Ballock Dagger has a long and thin puncturing blade handcrafted from damascus steel - acutely tapered, this is the type of blade designed to pierce thick Medieval and Renaissance clothing and cloaks with harrowing ease. Its thin profile not only aids it in this deadly regard, but also makes for an unobtrusive dagger for everyday wear.

The grip is formed from carved and well-polished wood; the guard plate and pommel are of brass. The dagger comes with a robust leather sheath which is integrated with a frog with a belt loop for wear.

One of the longest-lived medieval dagger designs, Ballock Daggers can be seen throughout Europe as early as the opening of the 14th century. It would peak in general popularity in the Tudor Renaissance and would exist well into the 17th century in the modified form of the Dudgeon Dagger. Early examples seem to have been considered a knightly weapon, but by the late Middle Ages cruder versions of the dagger became widespread among the varying social classes of Medieval society, particularly among the ascendent merchant class.

Please Note: Due to the handcrafted origin of these daggers, they can vary slightly.
