The Claymore, or ”claidheamh mor” in Scottish Gaelic, was used by the Scottish Highlanders during the incessant clan rivalries and and wars fought against the English armies between the 16th and 18th centuries. The two handed claymore was a transitional sword, originating from the Early Scottish medieval swords which developed a distinctive cross-guard. The Two handed Claymore was widely used by the Scottish Highlanders until the Battle of Killiecrankie in 1689.
The Darksword Armory Scottish Claymore features a thick, tempered, high carbon steel blade with central fuller. The guard and pommel are steel while the grip is wood covered in black leather. Includes a wood scabbard with black leather wrap and steel tip.

Awesome! I own this sword and it is surprisingly light for the large size. I also own a Hanwei claymore in which is bigger and heavier. Overall I like them both but I know this one is built much strionger with better metal. It makes the price difference worth the money! Great sword!
