The Del Tin Swedish Two-Handed Sword has an unsharpened blade of Chrome-Vanadium steel tempered to a hardness of 50 HRC. The blade has a diagonal cross-section - this imparts the spine of a blade with strength and a degree of rigidity - making the blade quite adept at thrusting. The blade retains enough width even at its end that it has the mass to deliver strong cuts and hacks.

The S-shaped crossguard and fluted pommel are of steel and have been given an antiqued finish. The long grip is overlaid with brown leather and has a spiralled riser beneath the leather for an improved grip.

This Del Tin sword is based on an existing sword dating to the late 15th and early 16th century. It belonged to Svante Nilsson - a relative of the elected King of Sweden and a member of the Swedish high council who would, in time, become the elected Regent of Sweden. The sword now rests in a museum in Västerås Cathedral - the burial place of Sture.

Please Note: The grip may appear to be black at a glance in the photos - it is actually a very dark brown.
