This simple, but elegant Kukri by Ex Gurkha Khukuri House is the type issued to the Nepalese Army and is worn as part of the dress uniform. No mere dress accompaniment, it has all the elements necessary in a khukuri to keep its reputation as a close combat weapon of renown. It has a differentially-tempered blade of 5160 high carbon steel; the edge is of 54-55 HRC, the body is of 45-46 HRC and the spine is 22-25 HRC. The softer spine and body keeps the blade from being so hard that it is brittle, and the harder edge aids in keeping the blade keen and will not dull as quickly as a softer blade.

The pommel cap and bolster are of brass and the grip is of polished and carved water buffalo horn. The scabbard is crafted from a carved core of pinewood and ‘’Laha’’ tree gum glue. It is overlaid with black leather and fitted with a leather belt loop and a brass tip cover. It has two retaining sections for the small traditional utility tools - the ‘’Karda’’ cutting knife and the ‘’Chakmak’’ blade sharpening tool. The two knives have blades of high carbon steel and polished water buffalo horn handles.
