Hun Composite Bow

SKU: FDHE Categories: , ,

$149.95

The Hun Bow was crafted in Hungary and is constructed from laminated layers of wood and fiberglass. The ears and nocks of the bow are wood and the limbs of bow are overlaid in stitched leather to protect it. The bow is reinforced with tightly wrapped cord binding.

The color of the leather used will vary in colors of black, brown, gray and green. The bow is available in two draw weights; 35 and 50 pounds at 28 inches of pull. A bow string and protective cloth bow bag are included.

Historically, composite bows were created from a wood, horn, sinew and bound together into a springy laminate with strong glues. The sinuous profile of these strung horsebows is designed to impart great power into the arrow and to cast it smoothly. In capable hands they were fast firing and deadly – but when coupled with a horse and the great skill required to meld horsemanship and archery it became the weapon that shattered kingdoms and empires asunder in hails of iron-tipped rain.

Replacement strings for this bow are linked below the photos.
