Epic Armourys Dark Red Pourpoint is a form-fitting long-sleeve coat covering the torso from the neck to the hips. It can be worn on its own or serve as padding under mail or armour. The pourpoint is donned like a jacket and secured along the front, sides and back with cotton cords, allowing you to customize the tightness of the fit. The arms are easily detachable by untying its cotton cords on the shoulders, each cord secured through long-lasting eyelets. Worn like a proper knight, you may attach hose and a leg harness to the four eyelets on the bottom front hem.

Thick enough to serve as its own armour, this durable doublet is constructed with layers of heavy cotton. The Pourpoint is stitched together in vertical and diagonal lines, keeping the padding in place and giving the body a strong form-fitted appearance.

This heavy cotton product is heavier than medium cotton, almost like denim. This material wrinkles easily, but can be ironed on a medium heat level. Available in colours Dark Red and Epic Black; and sizes Small, Medium, Large, X-Large and 2X-Large.

This is a high quality garment. I was looking for a 15th century style arming doublet with points and went with this one. It is not heavily padded but is made of very sturdy canvass type material. Fits me like it was tailored. I got the 2XL and I’m 6’3” 240

An excellent arming doublet. It fits fantastically. I am 5′ 10″, 175 lb with an athletic build (narrow waist, broad in the shoulders and chest) and a large fits like it was made for me (there is some cordage to adjust the fit). It looks great as a standalone doublet (though one might ask why you are wearing arming points without armor – they’re not meant as a fashion accessory).
I like that the sleeves are removable if you want to and if you leave them on that your armpits are open for air flow.
The ONLY downside is that they eyelets are NOT strong enough to really support armor. Especially the lower ones. I tied my cuisses to it and within minutes the cords had torn through the eyelet. Honestly though, this did not surprise me.
But, if you want this doublet and will be wearing cuisses, plan on an alternate suspension method for them or to reinforce them yourself.

Note: padding is minimal – more like 2 layers of jeans denim. I had someone sew a little more in on my hard points around the neck and shoulders.

All-in-all this is the best off-the-shelf arming doublet I have found. I plan to buy another, and maybe a third to serve as a foundation garment for a brigandine.
