Medusa Wall Plaque

In Stock!

One of the most iconic monsters of Greek mythology, the vicious viper-haired Medusa met her end beheaded by the sword of the hero Perseus. One of the three loathsome Gorgon sisters who terrorized mankind, the Medusa had a gaze that could turn anyone to stone. Perseus was able to overcome this seemingly invincible trait by using a mirrored shield to see her, keeping his eyes free from direct contact. He brought her head to Athena, who put it upon her shield. Because of this story, it was common for Greek hoplites to put the visage of the Medusa upon their shield.

This Medusa head is cast from resin and finished for a fierce, textured appearance with painted eyes. Suitable for wall mounting and pre-drilled in the back and ready to be hung on a peg or nail. - mounting hardware not included.

11 3/4'' Tall
10 1/4'' Wide (Approximately)
