The Ronin Katana #3 has a sharp, 1045 high carbon steel blade that has been differentially tempered, leaving a visible, wave-like hamon of harder edge steel. The tsuba, fuchi and kashira grip fittings are of a zinc alloy. The habaki and seppa are of brass. The wooden tsuka grip is wrapped with rayskin and overlaid with knotted black cotton Ito cord. A pair of menuki of zinc alloy have been fitted beneath the Ito grip wrap.

The Saya scabbard of wood is coated with black lacquer and fitted with a black cotton Sageo cord. Comes with a black cloth sword bag.

This type of sword is considered an entry-level cutter by Ronin Katana. Ronin advises that they are safe to use against single soaked tatami mats, as well as water bottles and similar targets. Ronin discourages their use against hard targets, as well as thick, hard plastic jugs

I ordered that Katana on March 22, 2021, and I received it on April 02, 2021, it came in a shipping box with aired up plastic surrounding the actual box and the Katana was wrapped in paper and had a silk bag to carry the katana. The katana itself came in beautiful condition and had a protective blade grease/oil on it which shows me that Kult Of Athena truly does care for its products. Now I have gone and practiced with it and the blade sharpness is quite nice, it does do clean cuts on small shrubs and 1/8 in think branches without any form of damage to the blade or scratching, its weight is balanced and is easy to wield. I have also taken it apart and the first time taking it apart it had a tight fit in the Tsuka but the 2nd time was much easier. Now there is very little I can say against this Katana, the 2 things I have come across is on the back of the blade has a slight deformation from the production of the blade, and if the Katana is taken apart the holes for the Mekugi’s don’t quite fit because the holes on the blade itself are smaller than on the Tsuka so the blade kind of slips out of the Tsuka. Other than those 2 things I am extremely impressed with this Katana and the price is definitely worth buying. I am going to give this a 4 out of 5 stars because of the 2 issues I have come across, shipping was fast and the condition the Katana came in was flawless and the quality of the katana itself is astounding.
