The Hanwei Bird Dog Sword Cane is beautifully crafted to a quality standard of sword canes costing much more. The rosewood shaft makes for a classic appearance. The head of the cane is investment cast in stainless steel, to preserve its finish indefinitely. The carbon steel blade is fully tempered and a latch secures the sword firmly in the scabbard section.

Hanwei Bird Dog Sword Cane Review I purchased the Hanwei bird dog sword cane from Kult of Athena about a month ago and I couldn’t be more pleased. I have owned one before and sadly let it get away. This is a high quality sword cane, the bird dog grip is made of investment cast stainless steel and is solid and flawless. A light tug on the handle unsheathes the blade and it’s a good one. Carbon steel and slim, very light to wield and a very sharp point. As is stated in the description the edges are not very sharp but that is easily remedied. The wood shaft appears to be rosewood and is high quality. The catches hold the blade securely in the shaft without the telltale button that gives a sword can away. There is a small rubber tip on the end that helps on smooth surfaces but doesn’t spoil the overall looks of the cane. It’s very elegant looking and I’m proud to have it in my collection. As always, the shipping was fast and efficient. Kult of Athena is the best!

Picked up this bad larry a few years ago. Really happy with it. I have used it quite a few times as an actual cane thanks to an old knee injury and it is sturdy and supportive. The cane itself has both a hard tip for soft ground that you can pop off to reveal soft tip underneath for hard ground. The blade itself is fast, snappy and well balanced. I have quickly and easily turned my dreaded cardboard box home intruders into confetti with it.

Very nice cane. I rate it 4/5. I would rate it 5/5 if it wasn’t for the fact that the locket on the cane/scabbard has had to been reglued a couple of times and the dog head handle can dig into your palm after extended use as a walking cane.
