One of the rapidly growing arts within historical fencing societies is that of sabre fencing in the late 19th century Italian style, originating with fencing masters who were employed to train mounted troops in the effective use of the military sabre. The Milanese fencing master Guiseppe Radaelli, is credited with starting the development of this style, while Salvatore Pecoraro introduced changes and refinements which resulted in the technique finally adopted for sabre at the Military Masters School in Rome.

The Hanwei Hutton Sabre features a tempered carbon steel blade with a rounded tip for effective training. The guard is made of stainless steel for easy maintenance with a wire-wrapped sharkskin-pattern grip.

If you are looking for a saber, look elsewhere. This sword does not have a cut and thrust blade. This blade is absolutely not shaped for cutting anything. It’s a sword, not a saber.

blunt as it should be This is a training sabre, not a fighting sabre. So be aware, it is meant to be blunt

I’ve used these for theatrical work. Reasonably durable considering the cost. I’ve had 1 tip break during light use, (I suspect it was strained during previous use?) but I just ground down what was left and its a slightly shorter saber!
Ultimately, they have a great basic look and are generally durable. Very good value.
