This large drinking horn is ideal for your next meal at the Viking or Celtic feast table. This drinking horn is a polished cow horn; the exterior is polished to a smooth and glossy finish and the interior is left more rough polished. The horn is paired with a brown leather belt hanger.

The interior is uncoated, though historically these horns would often have interiors that were lined with melted beeswax and left to solidify. Wiping the exterior of the horn with the occasional coating of vegetable oil will extend its life.

These horns are necessarily all organic items – therefore coloring and size will vary. Our pictures and measurements should be understood to be approximations due to the reality of the variability of organic items. Colors vary from all black, to mottled mixtures of of black, white and tan. Your horn will be chosen at random from our stock.

Very nice looking and good leather frog Only thing I’m not too keen about is how thin it is. it’s only 1mm-2mm on the rim and maybe 3mm-3.5mm in parts lower down.

Other than that, I’m really happy with this and will certainly be using it when I’m in costume. Remember that it isn’t lined with anything on the inside. I’m not sure if there’s supposed to be a coating for actual use, but I guess I’ll find out…

Big Boy Drinking Horn Picked this guy up at the Midsummer Viking Festival. A bit of an impulse by but man is this thing sweet. Really good price and a great horn to hold your beverages. Horn “frog” works nicely, holds it secure, no issues here.
