This Arming Sword by Michael Tinker Pearce is a particularly agile and responsive sword of its type; the blade is sharpened 5160 high carbon steel with an overall marquenched hardness of 53 HRC. The crossguard and pommel are steel and the wooden grip is bound in leather. The sword is paired with a wooden scabbard which was finished with a fitted leather overwrap.

This lively arming sword is both swift on the strike and quick in its recovery – its weight and balance lend it well as a sword for someone who wants a sword of this type which is both quicker and easier to handle than the majority of similar swords on the market. This also allows it to function well as a sword for a smaller or younger person.

A capable cut-and-thrust sword, the tapered profile is competent in the thrust and its flattened cross section after the fuller gives it a shallow profile which will cut into and through a target with ease – a profile such as this also reduces drag which serves to maintain a maximum blade velocity as it passes through a target to optimize cutting efficiency.
