British Georgian Style Horse-Head Saber – Universal Swords

$318.00

In stock

Horse head swords were popular swords for well-to-do military gentlemen of the later Georgian Era in Britain and the corresponding time frame in the United States. While eagle-headed swords were popular in the US, many well-crafted, horse-headed swords were imported to the post-Revolutionary United States until 1812. These swords would have been commissioned or purchased by wealthy regimental officers in the years before western militaries began to standardize their swords.

This replica of a horse-head saber has an unsharpened blade of tempered, high carbon steel. An interlocking circular design is engraved into the blade on both sides. The detailed hilt is of brass and the grip is of tight brass wire. The scabbard is of brass with two fixed hanging rings.
