Although the rapier was prominent across Europe, the English were in generally loath to give up a wider blade that could deliver a deadly cut. This sword is typical of the type used with a steel targe or dagger that would be carried by the London Home Bands that were formed in response to the constant threat from Spain. The ringed steel hilt and steel pommel balance the sword nicely for fine fencing type point work while the blade is wide enough to cut well. The English Cut and Thrust Sword features an unsharpened carbon steel blade and a wood grip covered in leather. Includes a leather scabbard with steel accents.
