This type of late period Roman helmet is named for a find in the Serbian town of Berkasovo, where a magnificent jeweled version of this helmet was unearthed. Roman helmets of this syle represent the final break with the Gallic style helmet in use from the early years of the Empire. Made of thick steel with brass rivets, and lined in leather with and adjustable liner.
