The Green Bamboo Snake Katana is unmistakably among the most collectible pieces yet made by Hanwei. Each of the distinctively patterned forged and folded steel blades is differentially hardened and complemented by a handsome green Tsuka-ito (handle wrap)over genuine Same (ray skin)and deeply- lacquered black Saya (scabbard).The blackened iron tsuba (guard)and fuchi/kashira (handle furniture) depict,in typical Hanwei detail,a tree snake lying in wait in a bamboo thicket. Also includes a cloth sword bag, cleaning kit, and a numbered certificate of authenticity. Hanwei is producing only 160 Katana with the black Saya shown here.
