The Paul Chen War Axe is based on a 16th century original. Axes such as this were favored by infantry and especially cavalry where they could deliver a fatal downward blow to the top of the head cleaving helm and skull together. The heavy head was also useful to rend mail and crush plate armor. Features a sharpened carbon steel blade and a tapered tubular shaft in a matte black finish. The grip is wire-wrapped with brass accents and a includes leather thong to secure it to the wrist in the heat of battle.
