This reproduction Adrian Helmet is crafted from 20 gauge steel which is finished with a blue-gray coat of paint. The interior of the helmet is fitted with an adjustable leather suspension liner that can be modified to best fit the head; it also has an adjustable leather chinstrap with a buckle of blackened steel.

The Adrian Helmet was introduced in WWI by the French when it became clear that a steel helmet was needed to protect soldiers from shrapnel from artillery shells primed to burst overhead – the older, iconic Kepi cap was made obsolete by this development in warfare.

The Adrian type helmet was produced in the millions and was used by the French Army well into the 1930s. Many other nationalities created their own versions of the Adrian helmet for their own use.
