A sword of type XII, according to Oakeshotts typology, is defined by having a broad and evenly tapering blade. It should have a good point and a fuller that is 2/3 to 3/4 of the blade length. This is perhaps the most classic of all blade styles. So much so that it is close to being the very archetype of the European knightly sword. The heft of this sword is managed by an effective use of nonlinear distal taper and a deep and well defined fuller. This results in a lively and responsive feel that invites you to strike with the sword. The pommel of this sword is of type J: a deep wheel pommel with concave bevels. It is crowned by a high rivet block. The cross is a version of style 2: a straight type of octagonal section that swell at the ends and in the middle. The outer third of the blade towards the point curves gradually to a sharp point. This gives a visual balance to the broad base of the blade and also helps in establishing sweet handling characteristics.

The Albion Knight Sword features a sharpened high carbon steel blade heat-treated to a fine temper in the Albion Forge Shop. The grip is of stabilized birch, wrapped with cord and covered with the highest grade vegetable-tanned calfskin. The guard and pommel are solid steel.

Albion Knight Sword – ANS4 Although not inexpensive, this offering from the fine swordsmiths at Albion is one of the best bargains in the market. As expected, my Albion Knight was well designed, historically correct and of the best quality. Kudos to Albion for their fine work and KOA for bring this sword to us at an affordable price.

Amazing sword Good, clean steel. Excellent craftsmanship in the grip and guard. Not especially sharp, but does not a secondary edge. Great buy for the money.

Albion Knight – Knightly, Noble, and Heroic Albion knight is my first “high-end” sword. Although inexpensive, I am not disappointed at all. Prior to this purchase, I owned the Crecy War Sword by Kingston Arms. I also have the The Hedemark by Valiant Armory. Both are fine swords that I still consider good purchases. However, the Albion Knight just upped the game at a whole new level. Based on my limited knowledge, I have to say the design and craftsmanship are both to the highest standard. Although not much lighter than my other collections, the sword just feels so lively in my hand. To quote “Medieval Review”, simple and elegant, describe and praise this sword. I am absolutely in love with this sword. As much as I hate to admit, but I am becoming an Albion fan boy, and I just ordered my second Albion sword – Steward the Medieval War sword. If you are on the fence about this sword, be assured this is worth every cents of your hard-earned money.

Fantastic Albion does not disappoint. With a special attention to detail, this sword is truly a beautiful work of art. The sword handles as well as it looks (awesome). Get what you pay for, and this sword is top quality.

Received my Albion Knight Sword in a couple of weeks under a year after ordering. Fit and finish are superb. It is one of the two best swords in my collection. No wonder Skulligrim recommends this brand so highly. Handling is also superb.

The iconic Medieval sword – when people think of swords from the time period, this is what they think about. Albion did a superb job with this sword, from fit and finish to handling to overall aesthetics, it’s pretty much perfect. Definitely my favorite arming sword I’ve handled, even better than the Albion Vigil.
