The Cobra Steel Falcata features sharpened steel blade, fully tempered in state-of-the-art computer controlled ovens to a Rockwell hardness of 48-52 so it will flex in a cut and come back for more the way a knife should be. Nothing fancy, just tried and true function. Features a rugged hard rubber mold-over grip giving great one hand performance while absorbing shock. The grip is purposefully longer than most machetes for a second hand hold when extra chopping power is needed. The falcata design echoed here is one of the best chopping designs in history and the Cobra is no different. Includes a leather belt sheath.

Worth it… I bought this second-hand from a friend, so this review is for the sword only. This thing is FANTASTIC. Goes through tree limbs, roots, water bottles…whatever…like they were warm butter. The grip, while not at all historic in appearance, is superbly comfortable in-hand. The blade is tough, thick, and has a wonderful edge-retention quality—not too hard, not too soft. I use this ‘machete-style’ around the place, and for that—it is excellent. I got a ‘buddy-deal’ on mine, but the price KOA charges is more than worth it if you want a historically-styled blade with modern tech. Get one…do it NOW. ;)….McM

Not 1095 HC Steel I own one of these and noticed that it was listed on the manufacture’s page as 1095 and stainless in the description. I inquired from the manufacturer and they let me know that it is NOT 1095 but is made from X46Cr13 Stainless, as is their entire Cobra Steel line. It has been corrected on the manufacturer’s site.

It isn’t a bad tool and seems well made.
