This Bokken by Cold Steel is made of tough polypropylene and it has a textured grip molded in the form of a knotted Katana tsuka grip. Historically a stout wooden bokken was used by swordsmen to train, but a modern polypropylene version is even more resistant to breakage to the point of being nigh unbreakable when used for swordsmanship training.

Great sparring weapon! On a personal note, the weight is just right. It’s great for training or when you just want to have a good spar. It absorbs the force of impact well!
