Emblazoned in brass detailing upon the iron fittings of this Wakizashi is the crane; a symbol of strength, longevity and loyalty in Japan. The differentially-tempered blade is forged from 1095 high carbon steel and was well-polished and treated to possess a particularly bright hamon line which denotes the boundaries of the hardened edge steel. The grip is wood which is inlaid with panels of genuine rayskin and then bound over with knotted brown silk tsuka ito cord.

The sword is matched with a wooden saya scabbard which is finished with a glossy black lacquer and capped in a matching iron and brass-detailed fitting at its tip. A sageo cord of matching silk completes the scabbard of the Mizutori Wakizashi.

Please Note: Although these items are brand new & coming from Cold Steel some of the sayas /scabbards may suffer from minor scuffs & scrapes. We can no longer weed out the “blemished” items from this product as the majority of them come this way. Swords are still inspected by K.O.A. for more major defects.
