This sword is based on the Sword of St. Maurice housed in the Royal Armoury at Turin Italy. Maurice or Mauritius was a Roman soldier martyred in the 3rd century when he refused to lead his legion against fellow Christians. The sword itself dates to the mid 13th century, but none the less is considered as part of the saint’s relics.
The Del Tin Sword of St Maurice features a classic broad medieval blade with central fuller. The guard and ‘Brazil nut’ pommel are solid steel while the grip is wood wrapped in dark brown leather. The unsharpened blade is made of well tempered Chrome-Vanadium steel with a hardness of 50HRC and is peened to the pommel for durability.
