Additional information
The Archduke Arming Sword has a blade of 1060 high carbon steel that is both well-tempered and sharpened. The pommel and guard are crafted from steel; the grip is overlaid in cord and wrapped in a tight skin of oxblood dyed leather. The companion scabbard is crafted from wood and it is fitted with an outer layer of oxblood leather and finished with a protective steel chape.
The Archduke has the blade profile of a late Medieval Arming sword – a form similar to a blade once owned by Henry V. The blade is kept wide to allow for meaty chops and slashes and the tip tapers abruptly to give it good thrusting potential.
