The sword of the Greek Hoplite and the Greek heroes, the Xiphos was the sidearm for the Hoplite to draw when their spear was broken or the melee has broken into a wild scrum. This Greek Xiphos from Scorpion Swords & Knives is a powerful and resilient sword with excellent durability and cutting ability. The blade is crafted from 1095 high carbon steel which has been well-tempered to possess a 57 HRc hardness. The blade has a darkened and antiqued finish and it is tempered to be quite rigid to ensure that maximum force is delivered in the cut and the thrust with little lost to flex. The leaf-shaped blade delivers powerful chops and cuts and in a thrust it rapidly widens a puncture in a target.

The sword is robustly constructed with a full-tang construction with scales of thick black linen micarta which are solidly riveted to the thick blade tang to create the strongest construction possible. The grip is wrapped over in banding of supple leather. Included is a durable leather sheath with riveted construction and a slotted belt loop.

To be honest it looked a lot better than it was it was overly heavy more like a war hammer. slightly, but the blade was bent and more like a moderately sharp blade than sharp. I’m sorry but I’m not happy with this I mean the sheath was nice and the finish on the sword was nice but that’s it

I did not buy it here, but I do own one of these swords.
It seem to be common that this sword come with a slight bend at the tip.
I ended up fixing it for the most pat by accidently breaking off the tip (the tip is hard but really brittle) and regrinding the tip back on with my Work Sharp. I also gave the sword a proper edge as well. I went slowly to avoid heating up the blade.
The leather wrap is also not well secured I ended up having to use a little supper glue to fix it.
The blade is a heavy? Yes it is. But it only feels a bit more than a Darksword Armory arming sword and the leather wrap does make it comfortable to swing around..
If you have the tools to touch up the blade, this is not a bad buy.
I don’t know about KoA but I do know that if you somehow get a poorly temper blade, Scorpion Swords and Knives will replace it if you buy from him directly.
