This later medieval Polish mace has a robust head of tempered high carbon steel which is mounted and pinned to a stout hardwood haft – its cap end is likewise crafted from steel. Not only does this mace deliver crushing blows of concentrated force upon an opponent but it allow its user to deliver these strikes from any angle of attack. With other weapons such as axes or swords a combatant must be aware of edge alignment, lest the strike lose most of its potency – not so with this mace, its wielder can strike at wanton will and simply not need to worry about edge alignment, for every blow will present a flanged end to connect with the foe.
