Napoleonic French 5th Regiment of Light Infantry Officer’s Saber – Universal Swords

$220.00$308.00

This Napoleonic Era French Light Infantry Officer’s Sword has a blade forged from 1055 high carbon steel which has been tempered. This sword with its embellished fittings would have been the esteemed possession of a regiment officer or commander who could not only bend the rules on permissable ornamentation on wargear, but also be able to afford to commission such a fine quality sword in the first place! A sword complete with blued-and-gilt treatment at the base of the blade that proudly identifies the bearer’s 5th Regiment amidst the symbology and regalia of the French Empire.

The hilt is crafted from well-cast brass and the grip is wood with a brass plate on one side. The sword is matched with a leather scabbard complete with a brass chape and locket.

Please Note: If optional sharpening is selected we do not sharpen the blued part of the blade unless specially requested to do so so as to leave the blue and gilt ornamentation intact.
