Prior to the Civil War Messrs. Sharp & Hamilton operated a farming implement company under the trade name of Nashville Plow Works. With the war looming, the owners converted their establishment into an armory. The Nashville Plow Works continued operations until April 1, 1862, when the city was taken by Federal troops.

The Nashville Plow Works Cavalry Saber features a tempered 1065 high carbon steel blade. The cast brass guard features ”CSA” and ”Nashville Plow Works” in block letters on the underside of the guard. The pommel and back strap are made from a single piece of brass. The grip is wrapped in black leather and twisted brass wire. Includes a blackened steel scabbard with brass mounts.

Very Nice Confederate Sword!! I’ve been looking for a nice reproduction of this sword for a while. I was impressed by this well priced well made and detailed reproduction by Windlass. It was well wrapped and packed for shipping, they took care to insure it would be protected. I Highly recommend the sword and Kult of Athena .

First purchase from Kult of Athena. This sword came today well wrapped and store sharpened. Sword looks great, authentic looking compared to pictures of original. Everything fits together beautifully, nothing loose no rattles. Very little movement in the scabbard. Blade is perfectly straight, forward heavy as expected. Hilt/grip is comfortable. Definitely need some practice adjusting to the balance. Very happy with my purchase will buy here again.
