This custom Arming Sword from Michael Tinker Pearce has a blade crafted from 5160 high carbon steel with a marquenched and tempered hardness of 51-52 HRc. The crossguard and pommel are mild steel and the grip is poplar wood which was wrapped in linen cord and overlaid in dark green leather. The blade is fitted into the hilt and secured with a permanently assembled nut.
This arming sword is in a style dating to the latter half of the 14th- 15th C. It is a stout cut-and-thrust sword, and should be an excellent cutter. – Tinker Pearce
