This handily-sized sidearm of a sword is a custom creation by Tinker Pearce. Intended as a Riding Sword or an everyday sidearm this short sword is intended to be a comfortably sized and reliable companion for the knight or professional armsman. The blade is sharpened 5160 high carbon steel with a final Marquenched and tempered hardness of HRc 52. The hilt furniture is mild steel and the blade tang is permanently mounted into the pommel with a recessed nut. The hardwood grip is Poplar which is bound in linen cord before being treated with a final full wrap of brown leather. The sword has a companion scabbard of durable wood which is bound in leather.
This sword is in the style of the early Middle Ages. It is the sort of handy, smaller sword worn in some times and places as a ‘walking around’ sword when one was not in full armor. – Michael Tinker Pearce
