Tod Cutler – 10th to 12th Century Viking Seax

$133.41

Dyeing the sheath adds approximately 14 days to order fulfillment time (Note: If sharpening is also ordered than total time is approx. 14 days)

The essential Viking sidearm, this Viking langseax is in a style befitting Vikings and Saxon warriors of the 10th to 12th centuries; it has a blade of high carbon steel with a semi-sharp edge by default. The blade was slack-quenched to give it an approximating hardness of about 50 HRc. The spine is quite thick and sturdy and the blade tapers to a wedge-shaped point which is well capable of delivering a powerful piercing strike to a target. Its elongated blade with a wedge-shaped cross section makes for a strong cleaving and cutting dagger.

The grip is carved wood and the bolster at the base of the blade is polished horn. This seax is completed with a sheath of vegetable tanned leather with brass plates and brass hanging rings. The dagger comes from the manufacturer in a variety of colors, such as natural, undyed leather, red, black or brown.
