A premium Craftsman Series offering from Valiant Armoury, this Irish Ring longsword, along with its scabbard and sword belt were all completely crafted in the USA. Care and attention was paid to create a robust and agile sword with a blade well-suited for powerful cutting strokes. The blade is sharpened and its appleseed edge geometry not only give it a fine edge, but also one that is damage-resistance and durable. The blade is 6150 high carbon steel which was tempered to a precise 52 HRc hardness. Before tempering the steel was normalized two times to ensure that its carbon content was evenly distributed to create a superior internal grain structure and to ensure that it could be tempered with precision.
The crossguard and pommel are of steel and the blade tang is durably mounted into the hilt with a hot peen over the pommel and peen block. The finely-contoured hardwood grip is separated with a stainless steel ring and is finished with a wrap of tightened high quality leather.
The sword is matched with a companion scabbard which is carved to fit it precisely. It is finished with a binding of top grain leather with embossed ivy detailing on its front. The protective chape is stainless steel and buckled hanger straps of leather are firmly woven onto the scabbard. Their buckles are metal which is reinforced with steel buckle tongues and these can be used to attach the scabbard to the included sword hangers and the belt loops on the hanger straps hang the sword from the sword belt. The height and angle of the sword can be adjusted with these hangers and buckles.
The included sword belt is crafted from premium leather and can be adjusted to fit with its metal buckle which is also reinforced with a steel buckle tongue.
