This Lambrecht sword is from Valiant Armoury’s top-line Craftsman Series and the entirety of the sword, its scabbard and belt are made in the USA. It is an agile bastard sword which lends itself rather easily to both single and two-handed use and even in one-hand it is easily wielded and points and pivots with notable ease. The blade stays relatively wide even in the main cutting portion of the sword and it will cut decisively and with authority. Close attention was paid to blade geometry to optimize its balance without sacrificing striking power and its sharp edges have appleseed geometry to ensure that they remain durable and damage-resistant.
The blade is well-tempered 6150 high carbon steel which was finished with a 52 HRc hardness after tempering. Prior to tempering the steel was normalized twice over to better homogenize its carbon content to give it an optimized grain structure and equalized hardening. The crossguard and pommel are crafted from steel and the blade was anchored into the hilt with a solidly set hot-peen over the pommel. The hardwood grip is tightly bound in spiralled top-grain oxblood-hue leather to complete the sword.
The companion scabbard to the sword is crafted to fit from wood and it is wrapped in premium quality dyed leather and fitted with a stainless steel chape. Interwoven and integrated with the scabbard is a thick sword belt of high quality leather dyed in oxblood. The belt can be adjusted to fit with its antiqued metal buckle which is reinforced with a steel buckle tongue.
