Cool Seax… good price. I ordered this “sharpened” and it arrived with a very serviceable edge. It’s solid, good looking and of passable historic accuracy. Good blade and a good deal. I gave it 4 out of 5 for value overall. Definitely worth every cent!

Great Decent priced Seax My title says it all. Buy it with the sharpping, I sratched the hel out of mine doing it myself. Worth the price.

Great Knife, Terrible Sheath I love the knife, the issue is with the sheath. First off you will notice that the beltloops are too close together. If you wear it the handle will be heavy and point towards the ground, eventually allowing it to slide out. Second, while those straps are pretty and the whole set makes a great decorative piece, they are not built too sturdy. I had to reattach one of the beltloops after a few weeks of light to moderate use. Expect to me getting a new sheath if you are going to be wearing it.
Again, the knife was good. Granted I would not know how to judge it other than if it broke. Its kind of large for around the house tasks and is more of a weapon than a craftman’s tool. Simple design but looks good. Blade is nothing fancy.
I like it though, that handle is pretty nice.

seax Seax well made,a few strokes on the edge and it was very sharp. The sheath is too small, not long enough or wide enough. The one strap should be closer to the mouth of the sheath to allow it to hang slightly tilted down in the horizontal position on the point end.I had to use a bit of force to take the seax in and out of the sheath.Sheath is however nicely made, just too small.

The blade is overall good but it did come with it’s share of flaws. I will preface this review with a small statment.

I had purchased the seax unsharpenned as I planned to sharpen it myself, so some of these flaws could have been worked out had I gotten the sharpenning.

The edge of the blade is thicker in some spots which is took a bit more effort to sharpen it (using a whetstone). There also appears to be a very slight warp in it, it’s not a major warp but when I really inspect it closely I can just make it out. But the biggest flaw I can see that really made the seax miss out on a 5th star is that the angle of the blade in the handle is not centered, it is noticably turned a few degrees. As for the handle itself, for me it’s just a tiny bit on the small side, but the shape is very nice. The texture feels really good especially when I rub in some oil. Though again with the sizd of it I end up having to put my thumb against the blade to get a better grip or else it might slip. The weight is perfect I can follow throw with strikes and it’s easy to pull back up and ready for another swing. Overall it’s a good blade.
