Help

This Hand and a Half sword was created by Stephan Lockwood; it has a blade of 5160 high carbon steel that is sharpened. The blade was tempered to possess a hardness of 52-53 HRC. The crossguard and pommel are of steel and the grip is wood overlaid with cord and risers and finished with a tight wrap of leather. The sword hilt is durably fitted to the tang with a strong peen on the pommel.

Important Ordering Info: Please choose which of the three hilt component finishes you wish your custom-made sword to have from the three clickable options. You can choose what color you wish the grip to be from the listed selections available. Please indicate in the ‘’Special Instructions’’ box when you order which color you wish your sword grip to be dyed. The shipping time for your custom-crafted sword is about 2 to 3 months.

This longsword would look right at home in the gauntlets of the late Medieval or early Renaissance warrior; the blade has a diamond cross-section - a favored style at the time that imparts some stiffness into the blade. This added stiffness aids in delivering a more forceful and piercing thrust. Though this sword has a form well-suited to the thrust, there is ample width on the blade to deliver harrowing chops and cuts.

This sword is an agile performer and unlike many such swords it manages to still feel robust and solid in the hand, not flighty or whippy. The weight and balance of the sword allow it to be used ably with a single hand by a user of above-average strength - but the blade certainly comes into better form with the use of two hands.
