Please Note: It is common and standard for these handcrafted and hand-hammered swords to have to have wavy edges or blade spines, evidence of hammer blows and a higher degree of general asymmetry than what is our common standard. They are still functional and can cut well despite this asymmetry.Â
The Konda Sword from Everest Forge is a robust, forward-driven cutting tool with real chopping authority. With its broad profile, stout spine, and pronounced forward flare, the Konda is designed to bite deeply into its target and its unique tip gives it significant puncturing abilities At approximately 2 lbs with a point of balance about 3.75 inches ahead of the guard, it offers a purposeful, weight-forward feel that translates directly into powerful, efficient cuts and chops.
The 18-inch blade is forged from tough, well-tempered 5160 high carbon steel, known for its excellent resilience and impact resistance—qualities essential for a working chopper. The blade’s geometry is optimized for momentum and penetration: a wide belly, strong spine, and generous blade mass concentrated toward the forward half create impressive cutting force while retaining durability for long outdoor sessions or repeated target work. The full tang extends securely into a grip of just over 6.5 inches, crafted from sturdy hardwood and shaped for a firm, controlled hold even during heavy swings. Twin metal bolster plates reinforce the hilt and add durability at the blade-to-grip transition point.
Included with the sword is a stitched leather sheath with buttoned retaining straps.
