This Indo-Nepal Talwar is a hard-hitting saber forged by Everest Forge of Nepal and patterned after the sabers used in Nepal and Northern India. Crafted from 5160 high carbon steel, the thick-spined blade gives plenty of mass to power the blade through strong, cleaving cuts and hacks. Its guard and pommel cap are of polished brass and the grip is made from carved and polished wood. The sword is matched with a wood-core scabbard which is bound in black leather and finished with brass cap, locket and a belt loop.

This is a practical, functional blade. It is very blade heavy, making it an excellent hacking weapon. The scabbard is nice and the brass pointed tip actually makes the scabbard a secondary weapon, especially with its wood core giving it a little more durability. I was actually surprised with how easy this blade cut through the pumpkins I tested it on. I have tested some of my other blades in a similar manner and none of them actually slices as easy as this blade did. I did notice however some issues with the hammer work with the brass at the top of the scabbard and on the pommel, the hammer strikes being visibly noticable. The design that is etched into the sides of the blade are not symmetrical and seem like they were hurried. That being said, I bought this sword for self defense and was wanting a sword that was practical, strong and durable, and this blade checks off all of those for me. Cosmetics however could use a little work, but if you are wanting a working blade you can beat up a bit in training, then this is the blade for you.
