Katana: The 28 1/2″ blade is forged from well-tempered 1095 high carbon steel to provide a sharp, durable edge supported by a resilient spine for shock absorption and resilience under stress. Weighing about 2 lbs 5 oz with a balance point at approximately 5″ from the guard, the katana handles with an agile, controlled feel that is responsive yet solid and echoes the refined balance expected of well-crafted samurai swords. The tsuka is wrapped with roughly 10″ of tightly bound ito cord, ensuring a sure, comfortable grip for precise handling and powerful cuts. Its matching tanto is crafted just the same – only smaller!

Both blades feature traditional full-length katana tang construction, with solid-metal fittings on the tsuka and tsuba — far superior in durability and feel compared to the plastic hardware often found on costume-grade swords.
