The Duskfen Longsword from the Knight Collection Elite Series is a practical cutting sword modeled after classic 15th century knightly longswords. Crafted with a 36 inch blade of 1060 high carbon steel, it is polished to a mirror sheen and tempered to a resilient 52–54 HRc to combine durability, resilience and edge retention. Designed for practical use straight out of the box, it’s an excellent choice both for newcomers seeking a foundation piece and for seasoned collectors expanding their arsenal. Its sharpened edge handles tatami mats and bottles with ease, while the point of balance—just under 3″ from the guard—gives the sword a lively feel without sacrificing cutting power.

The hilt features a solid stainless steel crossguard and scent stopper wheel pommel that evoke the simple but cleanly stylized lines of a sword built for war. The grip is wrapped in faux leather and provides both comfort and control for drills, cutting practice, or confident display. The full length tang is peened over the pommel to give it a sturdy and robust hilt construction. A matching faux leather scabbard with an integrated sword belt completes the sword for use and wear.

I dont post reviews very often, but I just had to for this one.

This sword went way above my expectations for its price point, fit and finish are nearly flawless, although that could vary from sword to sword, decently sharp out of the box, good weight and balance…for a sub $300 sword you couldn’t ask for much better. The only issue some people may have is the faux leather used on the grip and scabbard, but dont let that detract from this amazing blade.

For the price you won’t do much better — sword is beautifully balanced and the finish is more than reasonable. Ordered with two other Ronin Katana longswords and this was by far the sharpest of the three if factory edge is a concern. Scabbard is leatherette so durability is still to be determined but the leather is tight all around. Only constructive feedback for the manufacturer is that the laser-engraved CHINA above the crossguard really stood out on my example but was taken care of with 30 seconds of light polish.

For $265 at time of purchase, 10/10.
