This hand-forged medieval bastard sword from the Knight’s Collection is a sturdily crafted and economically priced offering forged from resilient 1060 high carbon steel for a fine balance between strength and sharpness and tempered to a 52-54 HRc hardness. The sword is perfect for collectors, reenactors, or enthusiasts seeking a reliable, battle-ready blade that is ready for practical cutting right out of the box or for expanding a collection at an agreeable price.

The blade is heat-treated to ensure a sharp durable edge while maintaining flexibility to withstand impacts. Its full-tang construction extends through the handle and is secured with a peened pommel for a strong construction and build. The grip is tightly wrapped in cord over a wooden core and provides a secure and tactile handhold with plenty of leverage. The included black scabbard is of wood and is bound in faux leather.

With a 3.5-inch point of balance, this medieval sword delivers agile handling for backyard tatami cutting or exercises and drills. The 29-inch blade offers sufficient reach for controlled cuts and thrusts, while the 8-inch grip gives plenty of striking leverage. Lighter than many historical longswords, it’s an excellent choice for beginners in HEMA or collectors seeking a functional yet affordable replica.

Little bit of flex but the sword is really handling great, the cutting is good to ! Best Sword for the money !

The description wasn’t kidding when it said ready to cut right out of the box. It’s as sharp as my Ronin Katana katana was brand new. So far, the handling seems great. Point of balance is close enough to the guard that it feels lighter than it actually is when cutting. It makes it pretty easy to swing with just one hand, as well. I can see what the other reviewer means by it having a bit of flex, but it doesn’t flop around when I swing it. Overall, great sword for the price.
