The Tornado Cutting Jian lives up to its name as a lightning fast Jian in the hand that can effortlessly recover or change direction. Though particularly light and nimble in the hand, this Jian finds the right balance in its blade geometry and blade mass to ensure it slices and cuts light targets with great ability and effectiveness and at impressive velocity. The blade has just the right amount of balance between flex and rigidity and is tempered to a 54-55 HRc hardness.

The guard takes its form from Ming Dynasty Jian with a stylized dragon head form that is as much form and function with its upturned quillon ends to assist with parrying and binding. The pommel is of matched brass and the grip is boxwood which has been for a pleasing grip that is not only smooth but also has a subtle tactile feel to its grip. The scabbard is matching carved boxwood with brass fittings.
