The Musha Lunar Dragon Katana is emblazoned with the coiling Dragon over the Moon on its saya scabbard in bold and vibrant color over a glossy night black lacquer. The sword has a blade of sharp and tempered 1045 high carbon steel. The silver-hue tsuba, fuchi and kashira of the hilt are cast in high detail. The wooden tsuka grip is fitted with panels of faux rayskin and the grip is finished with an overlaid wrap of dark blue ito cord. The sword is matched with a saya scabbard with a gloss black lacquer finish and a is completed with a dark blue sageo cord. Included is a black cloth sword bag for storage and transport.

When I first unsheathed the sword, it seemed quenched with oil and it had some black residue from the inside of the saya. Nothing a quick wipe-down couldn’t take care of. Also, the habaki had a small scratch that I couldn’t remove. Otherwise, the sword was in good condition and not bad for the price point and the reason I wanted it for, which is for simple display.
