The Legacy Arms Irish hand and a half sword features a full tang construction and a sharpened and tempered 5160 high carbon blade that is flexible and strong. The handle features a high polished steel cross guard and characteristic ring pommel with leather wrapped handle. This sword is light and quick for it’s size. A wood scabbard that is wrapped in leather with steel band at the throat and steel tip is included. It features the high quality fit and finish that has been known for all Legacy Arms swords. The blade is peened on the pommel for a tough overall construction.

I bought this sword a few years ago and I’m really happy to see it here on KOA’s website. It’s a beautiful sword, light, well balanced and best of all its a copy of a real weapon in the National Museum of Ireland. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Go raibh maith agat, KOA!!!!

Beautiful sword and feels good in the hand. Scabbard is very nice too with great retention.

Only gripe I have is that the blade and cross guard are extremely uncentered. The fitment isn’t great by any means. When holding the sword straight out, the blade veers to one side by a noticeable angle, while the cross guard is tilted the opposite direction. I’d be willing to say that the blade is a good inch off where it should be at the point.

This isn’t too big of a deal to me. It feels sturdy so i’m not worried about it. If that’s something that would bother you though, I’d keep that in mind.

I recommend for the price (and as John said in the other review, it’s based off an actual sword in the Museum of Ireland, which is awesome).
