Due to popular demand Get Dressed For Battle created this sturdy buckler with an enlarged central boss which is designed to accommodate the additional bulk of an armored hand gripping its central bar. Crafted from thick 14 gauge steel with rolled edges, this buckler is quite robust and built to withstand and ward off heavy blows. Its central grip bar in the back is dual-riveted for a secure fit and is thick and rounded for a sure grip. In skilled hands and as part of a complete weapons system when paired with an arming sword this buckler doubles as a surprisingly capable weapon itself!

Met specifications and can fit large gloves like SPES Heavies and has so far stood up to a month of practice/sparring against various blunts and feders.

Only drawback is that the inside of the buckler is very susceptible to rust. The product could be improved in my opinion by a coat of paint or blueing on the inside so people who train and get sweaty with this buckler have less corrosion issues. Obviously painting it yourself is an option.

Fits a gauntleted fist well. Has survived a few months of blunted steel blades with only relatively minor nicks and dents.

Handle is the only real drawback. Had to re-peen the rivets after the first use. The handle feels a little flimsy, and has twisted some (which actually improved the grip for me). Will likely have to replace the handle, but expect the rest of the buckler to survive for quite a while.
