Windlass – Venetian Stiletto

Additional information

The Venetian Stiletto by Windlass Steelcrafts is reproduced from one kept within the collection of arms in the Doge’s Palace of Venice. The stiff, triangular cross section blade is forged from 1055 high carbon steel and its original was purpose-built to puncture thick cloaks and clothing deeply, both for incidences of self defense or partaking in the cloak-and-dagger intrigues of turbulent and contentious Renaissance Italy. The blade is deliberately unsharpened as this thin stiletto was intended as a thrust and puncture weapon only – it does have a notably pointy tip. The guard and pommel are fashioned from well-polished steel and the grip is crafted from well-carved spiralled wood. Included is a thick and tough leather sheath with steel fittings.
