This sword has been styled from an actual German hunting sword held in a private collection. Swords such as these were carried for hunting and protection throughout the forests (Wald) with one hand making them a perfect riding weapon. The hand-crafted twisted steel guard, segmented and etched rosewood grip with brass spacers add to the unique beauty of this quality functional sword. The blade is hand forged carbon steel. Wald Sword I bought this sword over a year ago. Its a very rugged, functional sword. Nothing more. Nothing less. It’s steel is very hard, and resists taking a proper edge: I spent a looooong time on the stone with it, and now it’s a 3 foot razor that holds its edge well. Nothing pretty or fancy here, but it’d certainly remove a limb with no issues at all.
Beautiful sword, and rugged too! Built for a handshake grip, and the options of cut or thrust are both on the table with this blade! Solid construction, no complaints so far.
