Valiant Armoury Craftsman Series – Austrian War Sword with Scabbard
Valiant Armoury’s Austrian War Sword is a powerful and agile late Medieval sword; hailing from Valiant’s Craftsman Series it is entirely made in the USA. Its broad and powerfully proportioned blade will deliver decisively vicious cuts and its tapered tip profile gives it surprisingly capable thrusting ability as well.
The sharpened blade is 6150 high carbon steel with an overall tempered hardness of 52 HRc. The steel was twice-normalized to improve its internal grain structure and to optimize heat treatment. Its edges are finished with resilient appleseed edge geometry to give the edge more resistance to damage. The crossguard and pommel are crafted from mild steel and the well-carved hardwood grip is tightly wrapped in quality leather. The blade is hot-peened to the hilt for a robust and secure sword assembly.
The sword comes with a premium quality wood-core scabbard which is wrapped in a tight binding of high quality leather. Its fittings are of steel and the sword belt hangers have buckles of metal with steel tongues. The sword comes with a sword belt of durable leather with a matching adjustable buckle

History comes alive in steel with Valiant Armoury’s line of medieval swords. Hand finished by owner Sonny Suttles or his son Zach Suttles, all grips scabbards and belts are made from scratch using vegetable tanned leather on all their swords.

Having retired from western martial arts many years ago I recently had the urge to purchase a long sword. I really missed having something that I would consider high end functional. Owning such swords made by Del Tin, Arms and Armor and Albion, not to mention being able to hold and examine several original museum pierces. I understand what components go into making a good quality sword that’s not only beautiful but functional. The Valiant Armoury Austrian War Sword does not dissapoint. Not only is it beautiful but it is balanced extremely well and feels quite solid and powerful. The fit and finish is also well executed and the edge is nice and sharp. The leather work is very nice on the grip as well as the scabbard. No complaints! I love this sword!
The Valiant Armoury Austrian War Sword is not only a work of art but a finely crafted weapon. When wielding the sword there’s a sense of power and authority mixed with finesse and superb point control. It simply wants to be moved. The fit and finish are excellent. All leather work Is perfectly executed. She’s very sharp and ready to go right out of the box. I love this sword!
Fabulous sword if you want to start an land war in Asia. Very substantial but still well balanced. I love the longer handle. Fit and finish is excellent, and the sword cuts great. Came sharp and I put a shaving edge on it. It maintains its edge well even after cutting many targets. It’s not light, but has good point control and is very maneuverable. Valiant, of course, does outstanding leather work. It’s not a dueling longsword, this is a weapon that is passed down through generations of warriors. KoA is great to deal with. Highly recommended.
Incredible sword. Took mine a tad over a year to arrive but it was worth the wait. Beautiful craftsmanship on both the sword, scabbard and belt. Well-balanced weight and generous 2h grip length for average to large hands. Very sharp and sturdy blade with just the right amount of flex. The ordering process was good with KoA and they communicated well when there was an issue with the first one they received, allowing me to wait longer for a perfect one. Can’t wait to bust some watermelons with it and proudly display it in my home.
